Since 1979, Custom Data Processing, Inc. (CDP) has partnered with public health communities to build technology that strengthens essential services. As a privately held company with the same family ownership since its founding, CDP has always focused on long-term relationships, dependable support, and solutions that put people first.
What began in Illinois more than four decades ago has grown into a trusted national provider of software and hosting services for federal, state, and local health organizations. With a dedicated development and data center facility in Frankfort, Kentucky, we design, build, and support systems that help public health teams serve their communities more effectively.

Our History
Four decades of building technology for the public health community, one milestone at a time.
1979
CDP, Inc. is founded in La Grange, Illinois, with a data center of its own.
1981
Our first custom solution for home healthcare is released.
1983
Our environmental health solution debuts.
1986
We sign our first WIC contract and open a second office in Frankfort, Kentucky.
1990s
We provide a statewide integrated system covering patient services and management, financial accounting, and WIC.
1994
We purchase a permanent home in Frankfort, Kentucky, and open a disaster recovery facility there.
2007
Work starts on a new EBT solution that becomes WIC Direct.
2009
WIC Direct is implemented for the first time.
2010
We buy a building in Romeoville, Illinois, and move the headquarters from La Grange. Our data centers flip: the primary moves to Frankfort, Kentucky, and disaster recovery to Romeoville.
2014
Data Direct, our business intelligence and data analytics tool, goes live.
2015
We implement ezEMRx, a certified EHR for public health, in its first local health department.
2020
We bring online shopping to the WIC community.
2020
We launch real-time reporting in Data Direct to help locate scarce items during the pandemic, and add mass vaccine scheduling to ezEMRx to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
2021
We implement our first client with Farm Market Direct, bringing EBT to farmers markets.
2022
We launch Healthy Food Direct, an EBT-based food prescription service.

Our solutions run in more than 1,000 locations across the country, and we keep building on them alongside the agencies that use them every day.
