QA Engineer

CDP is searching for experienced Quality Assurance Engineers to test their world class software solutions.  

Our company develops software for state and federal government health agencies.  Most of our projects employ agile development methodologies (others employ a hybrid) which result in a unique, fun, and flexible team environment while providing an opportunity for our employees to grow and learn.

Positions available immediately in either Romeoville, IL or Frankfort, KY with no relocation assistance available. Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis for any employer.

Job Description  

  • As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing both manual and automated test scenarios for various web-based health care systems to ensure that the deliverables meet business requirements and company quality goals.  
  • In this role, you will actively participate in development planning meetings, prepare and execute test scenarios, document results, report deficiencies and track code defects to closure.  
  • You will work closely with the Quality Assurance manager assisting with test planning, test process, and the guidance of Junior QA associates as needed.  

Required 

  • 3-5 years working in a test engineer role
  • Proficient in developing test plans and scenarios
  • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, Test Manager or similar suite
  • Experience testing web based applications and web service calls
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving abilities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding and/or working knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases 
  • (Should be able to write basic queries and have understanding of relational database)
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle, development methodologies and testing techniques
  • Skilled in reviewing technical specifications, business requirements and similar documents to assess required test coverage
  • General technical background, (example: familiar with ‘terms’ such as TCP/IP, FTP, SSL)
  • Firm skill in working with MS Office suite or similar desktop applications
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Web-based applications
  • Proven ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to stay focused, manage time wisely and change gears quickly to meet changing business needs

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience 
  • Familiarity with different development processes including, SCRUM/Agile

Network Administrator

CDP is searching for an experienced Network Administrator to work third shift in our world class data center. Our company develops and hosts software for state and federal government health agencies. We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join our Network Operations team that maintains our servers and network components. CDP’s primary data center is located at our office building in Frankfort, KY. CDP has a hot site data center at our corporate offices in Romeoville, IL.

Job Description

  • Responsible for maintenance of Windows and Linux Servers, including updates to operating system, antivirus and other software. 
  • Responsible for setup, configuration and maintenance of Cisco network components.
  • Responsible for monitoring overnight jobs and alerts, troubleshooting and alerting key staff of issues. 
  • Responsible for clearly communicating issues that occur with overnight jobs or hardware to other CDP staff.
  • Responsible for deployment of software updates to production servers, rolling over production servers to hot site for maintenance or during emergency situations. 
  • Responsible for monitoring data pipe between CDP data centers, as well as connections to our partner’s data centers.
  • Responsible for monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

 Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Network Administration.
  • Strong self-motivation, ability to complete tasks without direct supervision.
  • Great troubleshooting, communicational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Virtual and Physical server maintenance.
  • Experience with Network components, Cisco preferred.
  • Degree in Information Technology or equivalent field preferred. 
  • Knowledge in routing and switching protocol.
  • Working 3rd shift. 

Preferred

  • Experience with Server Farms and Load Balancing.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Cisco certifications.

Quality Assurance Software Test Automation Intern

CDP has an exciting opportunity available for a Software Test Automation Intern.  We are looking for a creative and analytical individual who can help us reach our goal to transform our manual testing into the world of automation.  In this role you would be responsible for selecting and building an automation framework and producing a working proof of concept based on the requirements outlined by the QA Director.  The ‘right candidate’ for this position must be an out of the box thinker with a strong team mentality and passion for software engineering.   Your primary focus will be on building and implementing automation framework for the Quality Assurance department.  You will have a direct impact on our ability to develop, test, and deliver high quality products to our customers quickly, efficiently and consistently.

The candidate must be hands-on with programming experience, have excellent communication skills, and be execution focused.

This position reports exclusively to the QA Director.

Job Description

  • As a Quality Assurance Software Test Automation Intern you will be responsible for researching, presenting and ultimately suggesting viable solutions for the automation framework that will enable the management team to select the ‘best fit’ for CDP
  • Develop and document automated testing procedures and infrastructure to improve testing efficiency
  • Develop a plan and roadmap to implement a working proof of concept within 6 months of the approval of approved automation strategy and tool
  • Research and implement latest technology trend in test automation methodology
  • Create technical documents, provide training how to use automation framework, and plan for improvement based on user feedback
  • You will work closely with the Quality Assurance Director and other members of the Development and QA team as needed

Required

  • Strong programming skills in scripting languages
